It has been almost a year since I last wrote a blog.  I don’t even know exactly where to start.  Life has not been what we thought it could be or should be.  Things clearly are not what we believe they should be.  I literally feel like I am carrying the weight of the world.  I try every day to find joy in little things and to dare to dream about our farm.  I try to find hope and stay positive.  Today, I am struggling with that.

I am trying really hard to count my blessings.  We have had three female goats born so far this year on our farm and they are all doing great.  That is huge for us as we can keep our females but not the males.  I absolutely love watching them as they grow and really start becoming mischievous.

We also had a ram lamb born just the other day.  His markings are beautiful.  His mother is doing such a great job, especially for a first time mom.  He also special seeing how his grandmother and grandfather were our first two sheep when we decided to start raising sheep again.  His mother was their only baby.

We have also learned a lot about farming recently with help from the Department of Agriculture and the USDA.  We have so many new resources that we never even knew were out there.  It really makes it easy to start to dream about what could be.  There are so many big ideas that are in place and so many things that we are beginning to put together for our farm.  Things from drainage to buildings to plants to trees.  The list goes on and on.
